Born in Poland, raised in Canada. I spend most of my time in the Vancouver, BC area.

The blunder years.

Way back in my teens, I started building pages using geocities. Most notable - a page for my Diablo guild. It was filled with random gifs and about a dozen "under construction" images.

It. Was. Horrible.

More recently.

I worked in logistics all of my adult life, but constantly explore creative outlets… music, and most recently photography. Spring 2016 is when I rekindled my web development journey, by picking up where I left off with HTML, and learning CSS as well as JavaScript and related frameworks.

The meat and potatoes.

I'm a self-taught developer, fluent in HTML and CSS (as well as Sass). Focused on writing DRY, cross-browser code with a mobile-first approach. I stick by web standards and keep an eye on current and upcoming tech and best practices.

I'm comfortable with macOS, and Windows. I prefer Atom to write my code, am proficient with Photoshop, and familiar with vector software (Sketch, Designer, Illustrator).

What I know

HTML5
Not much is secret to me in HTML.

CSS3
From layouts to transforms and animations. I know it well.

RWD
I ensure all my projects are Responsive.

Sass/SCSS
I use mixins, variables and nesting in all my recent projects.

Bootstrap
Used this library on many projects.

jQuery
I can manipulate the DOM, and access JSON data from APIs.

Wordpress
I've made a few wordpress sites, mostly basic with customized themes.

GSAP
Big fan of the GreenSock Animation Platform.

Photoshop
As a photographer, I've been using Photoshop almost daily for the last 4 years.

What I'm learning

JavaScript
I know the difference between a scope and an iterator, but realize how much I still have to learn and the areas I need to focus on.

Angular.js
Used on a few basic projects. Enjoyed working with it, and am currenlty learning more about it.

Material Design
I'm familiar with the basics, but still learning the more indepth concepts.

Recent Work

PSD Template Cut

A project created as part of a recruitment process for SentiOne, a social media analytics company. I was sent a PSD of the web design, and left to extract assets and code the page.

twitch.tv viewer

Intermediate FCC Projects

A scraper that pulls JSON data from the twitch.tv API, and shows chosen streamer's status. I expanded on the idea by using Angular to also show a list of popular streamers and other pertinent data.

Wikipedia Search

Intermediate FCC Projects

An app which pulls JSON data from the Wikipedia API. I added my own flavour here, by adding the previewing of results as they're typed.
